Susanne Hartig

Susanne Hartig is Founder and Executive Director at anchor21, a Brussels based consultancy which specialises in providing transatlantic policy advice and project management services. Thematically, Susanne is focussing on citizen-centred digitalisation, digital democracy, and newly emerging priorities affecting international trade – turning political dialogue into transformation talks and serving a transatlantic, like-minded community which is embracing change creatively.

Previously, Susanne served for ten years (2008-2018) as Executive Director of the European Liberal Forum asbl (ELF), the European political foundation of the ALDE party. Before joining ELF, she worked as Programme Director for a German political foundation in Brussels. Susanne has twenty years of experience in pan-European project management and comprehensive expertise in knowledge and communication management involving stakeholders and actors from different backgrounds (politics, civil society, industry, academia), countries and cultures.

EDUCATION

Susanne studied at the University of Münster, Germany, and at Trinity College Dublin. She holds a master’s degree (M.A.) in political science, economic policy, and modern history. She obtained a Certificate in Leadership and Management from Hertie School of Governance, Berlin.

Susanne is fluent in German, English, and French.
